BIG THANKS From Our Co-Founders!

Words cannot express how grateful we are to those who supported our Bee Safe Boulder Celebration & Fundraiser on Saturday, August 8th. We are overwhelmed by the support that our community has shown us! None of the work we have done would have been possible without committed individuals like you…THANK YOU!

Over 200 bee-friendly friends came to celebrate the growth and success we have had in just our first year as an organization. We raised over $5,000 to put towards future projects, and also collected bee safe pledges from party participants.

The funds that were invested in our work will be used to train coordinators to create Bee Safe Neighborhoods in Boulder County and around the country, host bee safe educational events, and help us achieve our next major project: getting tree companies to pledge to incorporate bee safe business practices. It won’t be an easy road, but we will not stop until all of Boulder County is a haven for bees, and an example for other communities across the nation.

We all know we’ve just hit the tip of the beehive in educating and inspiring communities like ours to keep bees safe, happy, and productive. In the year ahead we will keep you updated on all the new neighborhoods, communities, and retailers who become part of our bee-utiful movement. The first of those is the Ides of September at Ideal Market, where Whole Foods’ Ideal Market will donate 5% of its net sales on Tuesday, September 15 to Bee Safe Boulder. We hope to see you there!

Thank you again for your support and for making the movement move.

Buzzing with Appreciation,
David Wheeler & Molly Greacen (Co-Founders, Bee Safe Boulder)
